Let’s talk a bit about the weather….
In previous articles from our winter tip series, we’ve spoken about changing schedules and mowing time depending on the season / rain / heat. Apart from scheduling, there are two more smart features in the Automower Connect App to help you take back control of your mowing, saving you time & energy working to a healthier lawn:
❄️Frost Guard
🌦️Weather Timer
Frost Guard
Up here in the North Island we don’t get as much frost as the South Island, but it is still a concern. Frost can be especially damaging to your lawn, and mowing during frosty conditions should be avoided. Husqvarna Automowers have a Frost Guard feature that prevents mowing when temperatures drop below 5 degrees Celsius.
James shows you how to enable Frost Guard on your Automower from the Connect App. Read more about Frost Guard.
Weather Timer
The Weather Timer adjusts mowing based on grass growth, using resistance sensed by the blade disc. It mows more when growth is fast and less when it’s slow, with Low, Medium, and High options to fine-tune the result.
Our experience
We've noticed that results can vary with the seasons. The rapid grass growth in spring presented some challenges, but we're currently testing the Weather Timer this winter. We'd love to hear about your experiences and results.
