RTK/reference stations and working at height

MowBot will identify a suitable RTK/reference-station location having regard to:

  • manufacturer requirements;
  • satellite visibility;
  • surrounding structures and trees;
  • coverage;
  • site conditions; and
  • safe technician access.

For health and safety reasons, MowBot technicians do not install RTK antennas, reference stations or similar equipment on roofs, high walls or locations requiring unsafe access, specialist height-access equipment or working at height outside MowBot’s approved work practices.

Technicians will not be required to:

  • climb onto roofs;
  • work from unsafe roof edges;
  • work from high walls;
  • access unsafe elevated locations; or
  • undertake specialist scaffolding or elevated-work-platform work.

Where a technically preferred position cannot be safely accessed, MowBot will consider an alternative suitable location where possible.

Where installation at height is necessary, the customer may need to engage an appropriately qualified and equipped contractor to install the mounting point, bracket or equipment.

MowBot may provide reasonable technical positioning guidance.

Third-party contractors and specialist height-access equipment are not included in standard installation pricing unless expressly quoted.

It does not ordinarily include:

  • later landscaping;

Customer-installed mowers

Where MowBot does not perform the installation, the customer is responsible for installation, mapping and configuration in accordance with manufacturer instructions.

Subsequent MowBot work required to correct customer or third-party installation may be chargeable.

This does not affect rights relating to an underlying product defect.

Service appointments

Customers must provide reasonable access to the mower, charging equipment and affected property areas.

A reasonable attendance fee may apply if a technician cannot complete the booked work because of a customer-controlled issue such as:

  • locked access;
  • nobody being available where necessary;
  • unsafe animals;
  • inaccessible equipment; or
  • the site not being reasonably ready.

Cancellations

Please provide as much notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling.

Where a short-notice cancellation results in technician time that cannot reasonably be reallocated, MowBot may charge a reasonable cancellation fee reflecting the loss incurred.

Preparing your mower

Where reasonably possible, before a service appointment please ensure:

  • the mower is accessible;
  • the charging station is accessible;
  • the mower is sufficiently charged for testing;
  • the relevant app/account is available where required; and
  • relevant property areas can be accessed.

A further visit may be chargeable if testing cannot be completed because the mower is unavailable, inaccessible or insufficiently charged.

Diagnosis

Some faults require investigation before it can be determined whether the cause is:

  • manufacturer warranty;
  • CGA;
  • wear;
  • accidental damage;
  • maintenance-related; or
  • otherwise chargeable.

Chargeable diagnosis will be advised where reasonably practicable.

A diagnostic fee will not be imposed in a manner that unlawfully requires a consumer to pay to obtain a statutory remedy.

  • attendance;
  • travel;
  • diagnosis;
  • labour;
  • parts;
