Winter Tip #6: Keep Your Automower Bungs Secure

Keeping your robotic mower in top shape doesn't have to be complicated. This week, we're spotlighting a simple yet crucial task: making sure your mower's bung is securely in place. A small step that can make a big difference in protecting your mower from dirt, moisture, and potential damage.

Note: This tip applies to most of the Automower range, excluding the NERA models. If you have a NERA mower, simply follow the cleaning guidelines we've recommended throughout our Winter Tip Series. Missed any tips? You can catch up by exploring our Winter Tip Series.

Where to Find Your Bung?

  1. Flip your mower over.
  2. Locate the cables coming out of the machine.
  3. Check that the rubber seals keeping the holes sealed are firmly in place.

Why Is This Important?

  • Prevent Damage: Dirt, water, and grass clippings can easily sneak inside your mower, leading to potential damage.
  • Avoid Moisture Issues: Moisture can damage key components like the front loop sensor board.

Pro Tip: Sticks or debris on your lawn can sometimes dislodge the bung. Regularly checking and cleaning your mower helps keep it in top shape. Keeping those bungs secure is crucial to prevent grass and moisture from getting inside and causing trouble.

James demonstrates how to check and secure those bungs in our latest video. Be sure to watch it to give your mower the care it needs!
